Show of Hands...

.... or at least one hand!!
Hello, and thank you for visiting my blog!
Today I wanted to show you the ATC that I made for this month's OR.C.A.S. (Oregon Coast Avid Stampers) August club meeting.
Each month we make and exchange ATC's.  We started in January with the letter "A", and have been working our way through the alphabet.  This month was the letter "H".
This was my ATC.

I stamped the hand with Memento black ink and then colored it with Spectrum Noir markers.  After coloring, I stamped the image again on note paper and tore the paper around it.  I put some two-way glue on the paper and let it dry creating a mask for the image.  After masking, I started applying Ranger Distress ink (Tea Dye color), building up the color on the outside edge.  When I was satisfied with that, I used water to drip splatters over the background and then mopped up the excess with a paper towel.  That left the bleached out splotches.  I then stamped the "H's" which are from two different alphabets sets by Close To My Heart, and finished around the edge of the card with some black pigment ink.  I stamped a second card with a Stampin' Up stamp that lets you fill out all the details about your ATC, and glued it to the back of my card.  The little envelope behind it is something that I found at Hobby Lobby and they come in a package of 12, I think, 2 or 3 each of different colors.  They are just right for holding an ATC!
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Smiles Across The Miles

Hi My Stamping Friends!!
I have a sweet little card for you today using a stamp set

I just love the cute little characters in this set and it has great sentiments and sayings too!
I stamped the girl and dog onto Ranger watercolor paper and then colored them with my brand new Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  So much fun!!  After coloring and fussy cutting out the images, I popped them up onto the card front on top of some die-cut pieces that I adhered on top of a patterned layer.  I stamped out the greeting and cut into a fun banner and popped it up also.  I debated about putting on some bling, but in the end I decided I liked this one just as it was.
I will post the full stamp set below so you can see all of the cute images.
You can also see this card over on the Pretty Cute Stamps Blog, along with a ton of other cards and projects.

Happy Stamping!

Jellyfish and Smooshing!

Hi My Stamping Friends!
It's time for a new challenge over on the Pretty Cute Stamps Blog, and this month
the challenge is Any Card.
I tried a technique on this card that was so much fun!
Ink Smooshing!
Look this technique up on You Tube and you will find some great instructional
videos to help you get going, but it's really easy!!
After creating my background with the Smooshing, I stamped this sweet Jellyfish from the Pretty Cute Stamps Sea Ya Soon stamp set.

I highlighted the jellyfish with some clear Wink of Stella.  The greeting is created with stamps from the Sea Life Sentiments set.  Of course I had to add some sparkle, so I sprinkled on some pretty gems from Studio G.  I attached the watercolor panel with foam tape to the pink and black layers, and then onto a blue card.
I will definitely be using this technique again!!

Here are the stamp sets I used...

Please join us and make any card using Pretty Cute Stamps and link it up over
on the Pretty Cute Stamps Blog.  You will find the guidelines for the challenge there, and you might win a prize!!
Thanks for visiting, and Happy Stamping! :)

Shake Rattle Robot

Hi My Stamping Friends!!
I had so much fun creating this card for a few different reasons...
first of all, this BOTday stamp set from Pretty Cute Stamps is adorable,
second, I really like making shaker cards, AND third, I got to use my brand new Fuse tool!!!

I die cut the card base and purple layer together to create the opening for the shaker
and then used the next bigger die for the top white layer.  I had just the right Sizzix gear embossing
folder to use and I brushed over the raised gears with some gray Distress Ink.

I colored up the robot and balloon with Spectrum Noir markers and highlighted the cheeks and tongue with some white dots using a gel pen.  I used all sorts of beads and sequins as well as some gears that I stamped out using the same set.  The Fuse tool worked like a charm to seal up the shaker pocket which was made from a piece of a page protector.

I really like that you can see the ingredients of the shaker from both the outside and inside
of the card.  The sentiment and gear are stamped from the same set.  The other gears are not attached,
I just set them there for the photo :)

Thank you for visiting, and if you would like to have this fun set, you can find it

Happy Stamping!

Sweet Shaker

Hi my stamping friends!
It's time for another Pretty Cute Stamps blog hop, and if you made your way here from Karla's Blog you are on the right path!  If you would like to start from the beginning, click here.

For this hop I made a fun shaker card using the adorable new set, Harvest Happiness.  This set, along with all of the other awesome new sets in this release are on sale through August 11th, and you can save even more by purchasing the whole bundle in the Pretty Cute Stamps store!

I wanted a softer look for this card and also wanted to use different products, so I water colored the images and the shaker layers using watercolor paper and Grumbacher watercolors.  I filled the shaker with sequins and beads, so it has a fun sound when you shake it.  I popped up the images with foam dots and the patterned paper is from doodlebug designs, inc. .  This set has so many fun images and sayings!!

How about a prize??

Hi Y'all!

Hi my stamping friends!
Today I have a little Sneak Peek for you from Pretty Cute Stamps.  I think this card lends itself very well to be a great guy card.  Sometimes it's hard to come up with ideas or styles that seem to work for giving to a guy, but this one works.
I started with a patterned paper, so my background was already done for me.  You could easily achieve the same effect by using some blue and brown distress inks.
Next I used the Tim Holtz stencil, Rays, and some distress ink to create the fence posts.
The cool barbed wire is a border stamp from the new Pretty Cute Stamp set, Best In The West.

The greeting is also from the new set and I accented the greeting with some cute stars that I punch out using a Martha Stewart all over the page punch, Starry Sky.  I put some Wink of Stella on the stars to make them twinkle.  I distressed the layers before adhearing them together.

Inside the card I stamped the sentiment from the new set and accented it with a couple stars.  I really like the font of this sentiment.

Be sure to visit the Pretty Cute Stamps Blog for more Sneak Peeks and free SVG images today, tomorrow and Wednesday and then on Thursday will be the August Stamp Release and Blog Hop.  You won't want to miss it!

Stamp Club Time!

Hello my stamping friends!
It's stamp club time for me.  Our OR.C.A.S. stamp club meets once a month and this year we are trading ATC's at our meetings.  ATC's (Artist Trading Cards) are little works of art that you create in the same size as a baseball card, 2 1/2 x 3 1/2, and you trade them in the same manner.
We are using the alphabet as our theme guide and we are on letter "G" this month.
I used the Pretty Cute Stamps set, Gnomies to create my card.

I created the background with Distress inks and then stamped my images and colored them using Spectrum Noir markers.  Next I just fussy-cut them all out and glued them on.
I added some Liquid Applique to Gnomie's beard for some added fun!

When you make an ATC, you always want to put who created it on the back of the card and date it.
I have stamps for that! :)

Thanks for visiting my blog, come back soon!
Happy Stamping!

I Love A Challenge!

Hi Everyone!  It's time for another Challenge from Pretty Cute Stamps, and the theme this time is "Birthday".
I knew just what image I wanted for my focal point, and it was the cute little girl from the Happy Crafting set. This is one of the newest stamp sets and there are so many fun things you can do with it.

Isn't she cute?!!  The present she is giving is from the Big Hairy Hello set and you can find that adorable cupcake in the Otterly Amazing set.  I paper-pieced her shirt and hair ties.  All of the patterned papers came from a 6x6 paper pad by doodlebug designs called Sugar Shoppe.
The greeting and speech bubble are from the Let's Talk set.  I added some Wink of Stella to the greeting, package ribbon and cupcake frosting.  The cute bow was made using a die, and I added a few sparkly sequins.

On the inside of the card....

...the greeting and stars are from the Leapin' Lizards set and I added a fun pocket inside where you can tuck in a gift card.

Now, it's your turn!!
I challenge you to head over to the Pretty Cute Stamps Blog and get the details
of this challenge, and join in on the fun!!

Here are the sets I used on my card...

Thank you for visiting my blog, I really appreciate it,  and Happy Stamping!

Sew Amazing!

Hi Stampers!
Thanks for stopping by!
I wanted to share with you this cute card I made with one of the new stamp release sets from Pretty Cute StampsSew Amazing.

You don't have to be a seamstress or know how to sew at all to have fun creating with this great set!
I paper-pieced the sewing machine and all of the cute patterned papers that I used are from Doodlebug Designs.  All of the stamping on this card was done using stamps from this set.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful and craft weekend!

My project is featuring the Sunshiny Day set.

It's such a bright and cheerful set and the sentiments are great!

Here's the card I made using two stamps from this set:

I paper-pieced the sun and clouds and then went around the edges with Distress inks for a little added color and shading.  I glued the bottom of that piece down to the card and put a couple of pop dots under the top portion of the sun so that it was coming up off the card a bit.  After stamping the sentiment, I went over the letters with Wink of Stella for a little shimmer.  Twine and a sparkly bling finish off this fun card.

Do You Knit Or Crochet??

If you do, you are absolutely going to LOVE this new set from Pretty Cute Stamps!!
There are sooo many things you can do with this set, like make tags for your knitted and/or crocheted projects, cards, pattern recipes, wrapping paper and more!
Today is the first day of Sneak Peeks for the June/July Pretty Cute Stamps new stamp release, and my project features the fun set Knit Happens.

So what I did here was stamp out the skein of yarn repeatedly using Distress Inks on Spectrum Noir paper..  After stamping the yarn, I used a blending pen and the Distress Inks to finish coloring in the yarn.  Next I took a black Spectrum Noir Marker (alcohol) to color all the white areas around the skeins of yarn.  For the paper wrappers on the skeins, I stamped the yarn stamp onto patterned paper and pieced it onto the skeins.  The basket of yarn was stamped and colored using Distress Markers and then the knitting needles and sentiment were added in.  I popped up the sentiment piece for a little added dimension.
Be sure to visit the Pretty Cute Stamps Blog for more Sneak Peeks and free cutting files today, tomorrow and Wednesday, and then hop along with us on Thursday to see all of the new stamps and lots of inspiration from the Pretty Cute Stamps design team.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog, I really appreciate you!

A Challenge To You!

Hi Stampers!
Are you up for a challenge??
Today starts the first of monthly challenges over on the Pretty Cute Stamps blog, and is designed
for you to play along with us and show us what you make using Pretty Cute Stamps, and hey, you could win a prize!
The theme this month is Anything Goes and this is my inspiration to you using the Fireworks stamp set...

I used the Bokeh technique for the background which I just learned how to do this week thanks to my friend Jo Rauch.  You first lay down your colors (two or three) using dye inks or watercolor and I used water color for this one with three colors.  Allow that to dry or use your heat tool.  Then you use a circles stencil (you can make your own with window plastic and circle punches or die cuts) and white pigment ink and stencil circles overlapping them as you go.  You will want different sizes of circles to get the right effect.  Once that is dry, you stamp your designs on top.  You can get tons of ideas and find instructional videos if you go to You Tube and search Bokeh.
It's really fun and a fairly quick technique!

O.K. here are the details to the challenge:

  1. This month's challenge is Anything Goes. So, create anything using Pretty Cute Stamps. A Pretty Cute Stamp must be used to create the project.
  2. Please link to your actual blog post...not to your blog.  If you don't have a blog, you can add a photo of your project to the current Monthly Challenge photo folder in the Pretty Cute Projects Facebook Group.
  3. You can enter as many different projects that follow the monthly theme as you want for more chances to win.
  4. The challenge will run for 3 weeks.  You must link up your project by 11:55 pm CST on Saturday, July 11, 2015.
  5. One random winner of a $15 Gift Certificate to the Pretty Cute Stamps store will be chosen. The winner will be announced on Saturday, July 18, 2015.
That's it, so head over to the Pretty Cute Stamps Blog for tons more inspiration and to link up your project!!
Have a great weekend and Happy Stamping!!

Hi Stampers, I have some super cute gift tags to show you
today using the Pen Pals set from Pretty Cute Stamps.
I just thought the adorable snail in this set would be so fun to
make up some cute and quick tags.

I colored the snail's bodies with Spectrum Noir markers and paper-pieced their shells.

I glued the bottom of the snail to the tag, but popped up the upper portion of the snail for some dimension.  I applied some liquid glass under the snail for the "snail trail" :)
These were a lot of fun to make, if you haven't tried paper piecing yet, I encourage you to
give it a try!
Thank you for popping in, and Happy Stamping!

Time for Tea!

It's time for a spot of tea!  Would you like a biscuit with yours?
Seriously, I am a tea drinker and I just love this sweet Tea-rrific Set from Pretty Cute Stamps!
The open design of the stamps make them just right for paper piecing, which is exactly what I did for this card.

First I stamped and embossed the teapot and teacup with gold and then stamped the images again onto the patterned paper and pieced them onto the embossed images.  I used Spectrum Noir markers to do the coloring.  The background is a piece of 6x6 paper that I cut and layered to get the border at both the top and bottom.
When putting the greeting stamp onto the stamping block, I curved it to get just the right shape to fit where I wanted it on the front of the card.
Of course I had to add a little bling and a pretty heart doily.

I hope you get to relax this weekend with a good cup of tea!
Pip pip cheerio!

Happy Stamping!

I made my card using the AMAZING new set, Super Sentiments, and BAM!, here it is...

but wait.....KABOOM!

What a fun surprise, POW!,  this card would be to receive for the Super Hero in your life!

I started this card using patterned paper from The Stamps of Life, and the Peek-A-Boo Die from Pretty Pink Posh.  After die-cutting, I cut a smaller white panel and stamped the images onto that, colored them with markers and then adhered that panel to the die-cut panel and then attached that piece to the card front.  I stamped out words from the set and punched them out, inked up the edges and popped them up on the front of the card.  I embellished the card with some glittery stars from Queen & Co. and a little Wink of Stella.

It's Time For a Pretty Cute Stamps Sneak Peek!!

Hi my stamper friends!!
Are you ready for summer time and some summer stamping fun??
I think we are all ready for some nicer weather!

I have a peek at a new set by Pretty Cute Stamps called Fireworks.

I made this card using a bunch of different embossing powders to get that fireworks effect.

It was a little time consuming using all of those different embossing powders, but fun at the same time!  The sentiment was punched out using a Stampin' Up punch.  I punched out a second piece out of glitter paper and cut it in half to create the frame behind the sentiment piece and then popped it up with pop dots.

Be sure to visit the Pretty Cute Stamps Blog today, Thursday and Friday for more Sneak Peeks and for some free cutting files, and then hop with us Saturday for the full May release, it's going to be fun!

Thanks so much for visiting and Happy Stamping!
