A Christmas Tree for Big Foot

Even this big guy enjoys Christmas, and he has picked out a good tree!!
I made this card using stamps from two different Pretty Cute Stamps sets.
I colored the images with my Spectrum Noir markers and then fussy cut them out.
The sky and highlighting on the snow was done with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, and the glitter glue is from Hampton Art. I used the Stitched Border dies from Lawn Fawn to cut the snow drifts.  You can see more about this and other Christmas cards in my YouTube video posted below.
Thank you for visiting my blog!  Come back soon! :)

Bring On The Bling

Today my post is all about the glitter!  This is an entry for France's Bling It Out challenge over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge blog.
I used Roc Nicholas' Bird Princess stamp and created The Sugar Plum Queen.
I colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers and then glittered her dress.  Originally she is holding a bird, but since she is now the Sugar Plum Queen, she is holding a lollipop which I put Liquid Glass on to make it shiny.  I also used the Liquid Glass on her lips.  She is all ready for the Toy Soldier's Ball :)

"Pretty Cute Stamps" Card

I recently found a new stamp company through Facebook and ended up buy one of their stamp sets.  This set, Big Hairy Hello:
I just thought this Bigfoot set was so cute!!!  Wanted to share with you this card that I made using this set.
I used an embossing folder to create the background, ,and since I used white core paper I sanded the raised design and then went back over it with another color to give some dimension to the wood.  I created the banner out of patterned paper, just cutting the little triangles.  The grass was punched with a Martha Stewart punch and the rock was stamped with a Stampscapes stamp.  I stamped Bigfoot twice because I wanted to create a more 3-D look attaching his head separately.  Since he's going to a party I put the present in his paw/hand :)  You can't tell from the photo, but I added some Wink of Stella glitter pen to the ribbon on the present.  I wanted him to blend in with the background because after all, he is a Bigfoot and they are so tricky and elusive and that's why you can never see them! :)
You can find this stamp set and other cute sets here: Pretty Cute Stamps
This card is also featured in a video on my YouTube channel:

Make A Wish

I was so tickled with the way this birthday card turned out!!  This was just such a fun card to make, everything from coloring it, to die-cutting it with that cute stitched dye and layering it onto the fun corregated card!  This card set is from Crafter's Companion, and the cute little elephant is Humphrey.  The set is called "Make A Wish" which was the perfect set to make this birthday card for our Granddaughter, Emma :)

Happy Stamping!

My First Card-Making Video!

While I have done haul videos and card share videos and more, I had yet to do a card-making video which was my goal when we purchased our video camera almost a year ago.  It has been a little intimidating to me, but I jumped in and finally did it.  I learned that I need to be better prepared and make sure that I have all my supplies within reach, and it would probably be best to do the video during the daytime when lighting isn't such an issue, and....figure out what you are going to talk about during the recording.  I tend to focus on what I am doing when I stamp and I don't talk a lot, not while I'm stamping anyway :)  Well, practice makes perfect improvement!  That's what I intend to do.  Now that I've got my feet wet, I hope to keep going and improve.  I haven't had any trouble with being intimidated on my other videos, so I don't know what the issue is with this.  I'll figure it out!  In the meantime....Happy Stamping! :)

Easter Cards

Spring is finally least for some of us, and others are still having snow!!  I don't envy those folks who are still having snow!  I am ready for some warm weather!  I love spring colors and bunnies, and candy, and I had fun making these Easter cards :)  I started with Studio G egg-shaped cards and used a few different stamp sets and embellishments.
Have you heard me mention before that I love Lawn Fawn stamps???  :)  How could you not love such cute, happy images?!  The grass was punched out using a Martha Stewart grass punch, and the patterned paper is Lawn Fawn from the Daphne's Closet paper pad, the solid green is Stampin' Up cardstock.  The sun was punched from the new Hello Sunshine paper pad.  Had to add some sequins for a touch of bling!  All Lawn Fawn stamps were used on this one.
I found a new-to-me stamp company, The Alley Way Stamps and this cute bunny comes from their Spring has Sprung stamp set.  This is a shaker card with sequins and confetti inside.  The greeting is from Lawn Fawn along with the patterned paper that I stamped the bunny on and the grass.  The other patterned papers are from my stash.
These two cards are paper "sugar eggs".  Remember sugar eggs??  The sugar egg stamp is from a company called Raindrops on Roses, which I am not sure if they are still around.  I have had this stamp for many years.  I stamped and embossed it on Close To My Heart cardstock.  The patterned paper inside the egg is from my stash and the bunny and chick are stamped on Lawn Fawn papers from the Daphne's Closet paper pad.  The bunny, chick, carrot and greeting are all from The Alley Way Stamps.  The little flower embellishments are actually snipped from flower trim.  The "frosting" is Liquid Applique'.  You draw it on and the it puffs up when it heat it up with your heat tool.
I hope you have enjoyed taking a look at this cards.  Wishing you and yours a very Happy Easter!!
Happy Stamping :)

Arrgggh Matey!!

I don't know what happened when I photographed this card, but the color washed out, and the card has been given to my grandson so I couldn't do a re-take, but wanted to share it anyway.  I just love this pirate set, by The Alley Way Stamps!  They have some really great stamp sets.  Click on the link to check them out.
This is the cutest set of pirate stamps that I have come across.  There are many more stamps to the set.  The dock that the pirate is standing on was done with an embossing folder and the waves of the water were cut with decorative scissors.  The clouds were stamped with Lawn Fawn stamps, and I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color all of the images.

The inside of the card.
This cake was soooo cute!  And, it was probably the best chocolate cake I have ever had!!

Our youngest grandson Ryan, the birthday boy.

There was a face painter at the pizza place that day, so Ryan had to be his favorite superhero, Spiderman! :)
Happy Stamping!

Another Challenge!

Our local paper arts store, The Bee Hive, LLC likes to challenge their customers to be creative, and this time the challenge issued was to do something with a bird that they gave to us.  There were a few different birds to choose from, but me loving the color red, well I went with the Cardinal.  It took me awhile to come up with an idea, but I finally figured out what I wanted to do, and here it is:
I used Tim Holtz's pinecone die and did my best to try and make them look like pinecones, but they still came out looking like roses, oh well.  The greenery is from the same die.  I then put Snowriter on the pinecones and greenery along with some prisma glitter for the snowy look.  I crocheted her little hat and scarf and wrapped her up in some festive Christmas lights.
Happy Stamping!

A Late Birthday Card For A Friend

I used this adorable snail from The Stamps of Life set, snails2mail.  It seemed to be the perfect choice since I have been so slow getting this done for my friend!!  I made the snail a little more "real" by applying some Liquid Glass to the snail's body and underneath the snail leaving that slimy trail.  Eeew!! :)

Wishing you all Happy "Trails" and Happy Stamping! :)

Valentine's For the Grandkids :)

Thought I would share the Valentine cards that I made for our grandchildren.  Made multiples of these designs and all of them were fun!

This design was made with a Stamps Of Life set and Authentique patterned paper.  I have the dies for the stamps, so that made things a little easier!
This adorable little mouse is from a stamp set by Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps along with the greeting stamp.  Those cute glittery foam stickers were a find from the Dollar Tree.
These stamps are all from Close To My Heart.  There is another train car to the set, but three fit just right on this card.
Wishing you love.
Happy Valentine's Day :)

Stampotique ATC Exchange

Good morning all!  It is a glorious morning here on the Oregon Coast!  The sky is such a beautiful blue this morning and I bet the ocean is looking beautiful too!  I had to share with you what I received and what I sent in this super fun ATC exchange.  Exchanging items with folks from other countries who share common interests is so much fun.  A long time ago I had two stamp pals who I exchanged stamped items with, one from Australia and one from Hawaii, and I loved it!  I still treasure those items and I am still in contact with my friend in Australia, Frances Byrne .  You can click on her name and see her blog, she does fantastic work!
O.K. on to the exchange.  It started with a simple question by Nikki Woodward on the Stampotique facebook page asking if there had ever been an ATC exchange.  Well, a bunch of us jumped on that and wanted to take part!  I think there were 16 this time and others want to take part in the next.  I hope it just continues on because it was so much fun!!
Nikki put the whole thing together for us.  The theme was "Beloved".  I drew Karen Hayselden's name.  Karen lives in the U.K., and this is the artist trading card that I made for her:
ATC's are the specific size of 2 1/2 x 3 1/2.
Corrie Herriman drew my name.  Corrie lives in Netherlands and here is what she sent to me:
This was the ATC that she made for the exchange, along with the darling little envelope that it came in.  I just love it!!
She also sent me this ATC because when I saw it on the Stampotique facebook page I jokingly asked her if I could have it, should she draw my name in the exchange hee, hee!! (I'm so spoiled!):

Bird Lady, isn't she so cool?!  She was also in a cute little envelope and the ATC's were inside of this cool card:
This was so much fun, and I can't wait to do it again!!!
Have a fabulous weekend and go stamp something!
Happy Stamping,
Janna :)

Tag Along Challenge

I got busy today, so this is my second post.  I love doing tags, so when I found the Tag Along blog I was delighted!  Their current challenge is Winter Trees so this is what I came up with for the challenge.
I started with a Prima tag which has been cropped, and then stamped the tree which is from Rubbermoon.  I colored the tree with distress markers and added color to the tag with distress inks.  I created a stencil to add the moon and stamped the word "Magical" with one of my Close To My Heart stamps.  Of course I had to add some bling to the stars.
It's been a magical, starry themed day!
Happy Stamping! :)

Stampotique Stars Challenge

Hi!  So excited to post to the Stampotique Designer Blog Challenge!  This week the challenge is Stars.
I decided to make this birthday card for the challenge.
I used Kitten Sitting, a Stampotique stamp by Kira Nichols.  The greeting is by A Muse ArtStamps and the background paper is Graphic 45.
I hope you are having a magical day! :)
Happy Stamping!

Thanksgiving Crafting

My Granddaughter Emma wanted to do some crafting in my stamp studio when they were here for Thanksgiving, so I came up with the idea of a banner for her.  I had leftover canvas banner pieces from a class that I had taken so that was the base for the banner.  I let her choose the paper and colors and then we got started and here's the finished project.
Emma stenciled the colors onto the banner pieces and glittered up the letters.

She picked out the buttons and we got everything assembled, and then we tied on the ribbons and tule.
Emma did a great job on her banner "Family", she's a great little crafter!! :)
Happy Stamping,

A "thank you" for Michele

What do you do when you get a free stamp??  You say "thank you"!  I sent my husband to The Bee Hive to get a couple Stampotique stamps for me and he came home with several including a free one from Queen Bee, Michele :)  She sent home Mort Had A Pin Curl, so I wanted to make something to say "thank you".  This little canvas is what I came up with.

It's hard to catch the iridescence and glitter that's going on here on this canvas, but it's there and fits in nicely with the saying, which is from a Dyan Reaveley set.  It shines :)
Happy Stamping you all!

Fun Little Wall Art

I had some fun creating this little wall hanging today.  I just purchased some new Stampotique Stamps, this girl and cat being two of them.  The girl is Karin and the cat is Kitty.  The background paper was done with alcohol inks on glossy cardstock.  I used corregated paper behind that and down at the bottom punched some trim to match the trim on Karin's dress.

Thanks for looking and Happy Stamping!

World Card Making Day :)

For World Card Making Day I attended a card making event put on by my Stampin' Up demonstrator.  We made 10 cards, 2 each of five designs.  The event was well attended and tons of fun!  These are the cards that we made.

Thanks for taking a peek!  I hope that you got to make some fun cards on World Card Making Day too!
