Arrgggh Matey!!

I don't know what happened when I photographed this card, but the color washed out, and the card has been given to my grandson so I couldn't do a re-take, but wanted to share it anyway.  I just love this pirate set, by The Alley Way Stamps!  They have some really great stamp sets.  Click on the link to check them out.

This is the cutest set of pirate stamps that I have come across.  There are many more stamps to the set.  The dock that the pirate is standing on was done with an embossing folder and the waves of the water were cut with decorative scissors.  The clouds were stamped with Lawn Fawn stamps, and I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color all of the images.

The inside of the card.

This cake was soooo cute!  And, it was probably the best chocolate cake I have ever had!!

Our youngest grandson Ryan, the birthday boy.

There was a face painter at the pizza place that day, so Ryan had to be his favorite superhero, Spiderman! :)

Happy Stamping!

Another Challenge!

Our local paper arts store, The Bee Hive, LLC likes to challenge their customers to be creative, and this time the challenge issued was to do something with a bird that they gave to us.  There were a few different birds to choose from, but me loving the color red, well I went with the Cardinal.  It took me awhile to come up with an idea, but I finally figured out what I wanted to do, and here it is:

I used Tim Holtz's pinecone die and did my best to try and make them look like pinecones, but they still came out looking like roses, oh well.  The greenery is from the same die.  I then put Snowriter on the pinecones and greenery along with some prisma glitter for the snowy look.  I crocheted her little hat and scarf and wrapped her up in some festive Christmas lights.
Happy Stamping!

A Late Birthday Card For A Friend

I used this adorable snail from The Stamps of Life set, snails2mail.  It seemed to be the perfect choice since I have been so slow getting this done for my friend!!  I made the snail a little more "real" by applying some Liquid Glass to the snail's body and underneath the snail leaving that slimy trail.  Eeew!! :)

Wishing you all Happy "Trails" and Happy Stamping! :)

Valentine's For the Grandkids :)

Thought I would share the Valentine cards that I made for our grandchildren.  Made multiples of these designs and all of them were fun!

This design was made with a Stamps Of Life set and Authentique patterned paper.  I have the dies for the stamps, so that made things a little easier!

This adorable little mouse is from a stamp set by Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps along with the greeting stamp.  Those cute glittery foam stickers were a find from the Dollar Tree.

These stamps are all from Close To My Heart.  There is another train car to the set, but three fit just right on this card.

Wishing you love.
Happy Valentine's Day :)
and
Happy Stamping!

Stampotique ATC Exchange

Good morning all!  It is a glorious morning here on the Oregon Coast!  The sky is such a beautiful blue this morning and I bet the ocean is looking beautiful too!  I had to share with you what I received and what I sent in this super fun ATC exchange.  Exchanging items with folks from other countries who share common interests is so much fun.  A long time ago I had two stamp pals who I exchanged stamped items with, one from Australia and one from Hawaii, and I loved it!  I still treasure those items and I am still in contact with my friend in Australia, Frances Byrne .  You can click on her name and see her blog, she does fantastic work!
O.K. on to the exchange.  It started with a simple question by Nikki Woodward on the Stampotique facebook page asking if there had ever been an ATC exchange.  Well, a bunch of us jumped on that and wanted to take part!  I think there were 16 this time and others want to take part in the next.  I hope it just continues on because it was so much fun!!
Nikki put the whole thing together for us.  The theme was "Beloved".  I drew Karen Hayselden's name.  Karen lives in the U.K., and this is the artist trading card that I made for her:

ATC's are the specific size of 2 1/2 x 3 1/2.

Corrie Herriman drew my name.  Corrie lives in Netherlands and here is what she sent to me:

This was the ATC that she made for the exchange, along with the darling little envelope that it came in.  I just love it!!
She also sent me this ATC because when I saw it on the Stampotique facebook page I jokingly asked her if I could have it, should she draw my name in the exchange hee, hee!! (I'm so spoiled!):

Bird Lady, isn't she so cool?!  She was also in a cute little envelope and the ATC's were inside of this cool card:

This was so much fun, and I can't wait to do it again!!!
Have a fabulous weekend and go stamp something!
Happy Stamping,
Janna :)

Tag Along Challenge

I got busy today, so this is my second post.  I love doing tags, so when I found the Tag Along blog I was delighted!  Their current challenge is Winter Trees so this is what I came up with for the challenge.

I started with a Prima tag which has been cropped, and then stamped the tree which is from Rubbermoon.  I colored the tree with distress markers and added color to the tag with distress inks.  I created a stencil to add the moon and stamped the word "Magical" with one of my Close To My Heart stamps.  Of course I had to add some bling to the stars.
It's been a magical, starry themed day!

Happy Stamping! :)

Stampotique Stars Challenge

Hi!  So excited to post to the Stampotique Designer Blog Challenge!  This week the challenge is Stars.
I decided to make this birthday card for the challenge.

I used Kitten Sitting, a Stampotique stamp by Kira Nichols.  The greeting is by A Muse ArtStamps and the background paper is Graphic 45.
I hope you are having a magical day! :)
Happy Stamping!

Thanksgiving Crafting

My Granddaughter Emma wanted to do some crafting in my stamp studio when they were here for Thanksgiving, so I came up with the idea of a banner for her.  I had leftover canvas banner pieces from a class that I had taken so that was the base for the banner.  I let her choose the paper and colors and then we got started and here's the finished project.

Emma stenciled the colors onto the banner pieces and glittered up the letters.

She picked out the buttons and we got everything assembled, and then we tied on the ribbons and tule.

Emma did a great job on her banner "Family", she's a great little crafter!! :)

Happy Stamping,

A "thank you" for Michele

What do you do when you get a free stamp??  You say "thank you"!  I sent my husband to The Bee Hive to get a couple Stampotique stamps for me and he came home with several including a free one from Queen Bee, Michele :)  She sent home Mort Had A Pin Curl, so I wanted to make something to say "thank you".  This little canvas is what I came up with.

It's hard to catch the iridescence and glitter that's going on here on this canvas, but it's there and fits in nicely with the saying, which is from a Dyan Reaveley set.  It shines :)
Happy Stamping you all!

Fun Little Wall Art

I had some fun creating this little wall hanging today.  I just purchased some new Stampotique Stamps, this girl and cat being two of them.  The girl is Karin and the cat is Kitty.  The background paper was done with alcohol inks on glossy cardstock.  I used corregated paper behind that and down at the bottom punched some trim to match the trim on Karin's dress.

Thanks for looking and Happy Stamping!

World Card Making Day :)

For World Card Making Day I attended a card making event put on by my Stampin' Up demonstrator.  We made 10 cards, 2 each of five designs.  The event was well attended and tons of fun!  These are the cards that we made.

Thanks for taking a peek!  I hope that you got to make some fun cards on World Card Making Day too!

My Entry for Stampotique's Design Team Call

Stampotique has put out a Designers Challenge: Stampotique Design Team Call 2014 x2!
I am really excited to take part in trying out for the team.  I really like the unique style of their stamps and feel that my electic style of stamping would lend itself to fit on the team.  I enjoy a wide variety of stamping styles and techniques from clean and simple to scenic, vintage, silly and more, but I think what stands out most in my creations is the use of color.  Thank you for considering my entry, I had fun making it!

I started with a large pre-made tag and added distress inks and used vaious stencils.  I also sprayed on some Fireworks and dabbed on some color with a stencil.  The strip across the bottom is washi tape and I embellished with a little clock at the top.  This cute girl is by Stampotique and is called Topknot, and she is walking her gorgeous pink poodle (dog stamp is from My Favorite Things).  The word stamps are from Dylusions.

Thank you for looking and Happy Stamping! :)

What's the Buzz?

This card was the project at our last stamp club meeting.  I missed the meeting, but got the instructions so that I could take part in making one for this month.  The cute corner piece is actually a bookmark, so the recipient of the card gets a little gift with the card!  The paper, ink, stamp and embellishment are all from Close To My Heart.

If you like this idea, you can find the pattern on Split Coast Stampers.
Happy Stamping! :)

Halloween Banner

Cute Halloween banner from a class I took by my Stampin' Up demonstrator, Jo Rauch.

We chose whether we wanted a Christmas/snow banner or Halloween.

The banner came in a kit and there were stencils for the background and for the letters, plus lots of embellishments.  I added more embellishments from my stash.

The base pieces of the banner are a canvas material and there are enough of them in the kit to make several banners, plus you have all the stencils too!  Click on the photos for a closer look.
It was very fun!

Side-Tracked

Hi All!
I'm sorry it's been a while since I have posted anything.  I've gotten a little side-tracked lately with a decision that I made.  You see, my hair has gotten extremely thin and sparse over the years and with being on a diet it made matters worse and I finally made the decision to "wear" hair!  It was tough and I shed many tears over it believe me, but after all that I have actually been having fun with it and have gotten into making wig review videos.  You can see them here.  Once you get to my page, just find the "videos" link and you can see what I have been up to.  I will post something crafty soon, promise!  :)

Happy Stamping!

Spells, Potions and Incantations, An Altered Book

This started out as an old Reader's Digest book.
It looks a little scary and serious,
but look again :)

I painted the real cover of the book and then waded up a piece of faux leather paper and glued it to the cover.  I sanded it to give it the worn out look.  The cover of the spine is a faux suede paper which I also sanded a bit.  I used tiny beads along the edge of the suede.

The title of the book was printed onto a cloud vellum.  I painted the frame black and dry brushed on the gold.

The Table of Contents

SPELLS

c+a+t spells cat

d+o+g spells dog

POTIONS

Love that Venom bottle!

Carter's Little Liver Pills, ever heard of those??  :)

INCANTATIONS

Scary huh?  :)

Thank you for looking at my altered book.
