Twisted Lizards :)

Happy Friday fellow stampers!!  Today I am bringing you this super fun Twisted Easel card.
I used the Leapin' Lizards and Be Mine sets from Pretty Cute Stamps
I started by stamping the cute lizards and coloring them with Spectrum Noir markers and then fussy cut them out.  To make the Twisted Easel, you start with a square card folded on the side.  This one is 5 1/2" square.  You then score the front of the card base from the top right corner down to the bottom left corner.  I chose to layer white cardstock on top of the base card and then two different patterned papers.  Your focal point, in this case the heart with lizards, is placed in the center of the card and glued on the bottom right side only (the half of the heart that is on the green paper).
I added some liquid glass to the lizard's eyes and the tongue, some Stickles to their cheeks and spots and for a bit more sparkle there is a glitter doily behind the red heart.  I finished the heart off with some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
Now for the surprise to this sort of twists open and rests on the heart greeting inside.
The heart is popped up with foam dots to allow the front of the card to "catch" behind it.  The greeting inside the card, along with the "x's" and "o's" are from the Be Mine set.  I used a clear Wink of Stella pen to add a little sparkle to the hearts inside of the "o's".
Valentine's Day will soon be here, I hope yours is filled with love.
Happy Stamping :)

Stamping This and That

First I would like to say "thank you" to all of my new followers and for all of the lovely comments on the Pretty Cute Stamps January Release.  I truly appreciate you all!
Just thought I would share what I have been working on.  The stamp club that I belong to here locally, OR.C.A.S. (Oregon Coast Avid Stampers), do a few different community projects and for the last few years we have made Valentines for the Meals on Wheels program.  The Valentines are distributed to the folks who receive meals from that service.  This was my design.  We gave them 220 cards this year.

We just had our monthly stamp club meeting yesterday, and this year we decided to do an ATC exchange each month.  We are just going through the alphabet as our monthly challenge, so this month our ATC had to be something to do with the letter "A".  This is what I came up with:
The background is one stamp, then I cut out the big and small A pieces from paper pads.  I added liquid pearls to the small A and stamped over the top of the big A.  I finished it up with ink around the edges of the card and some more liquid pearl doodling.

I also have my latest You Tube video to share with some more stamping goodness.

Thanks for visiting, and Happy Stamping!

Pretty Cute Stamps January Blog Hop!

Hi my stamping friends!  Welcome to Pretty Cute Stamps January Blog Hop!  If you came here from the Pretty Cute Stamps blog, then you are in the right place :)  If you would like to go back and start from the beginning, click here.
I have a card to share with you today that I made with the brand new Mad Scientist set which is currently on sale over at Pretty Cute Stamps.
A while back I learned how to do the "chalkboard technique" and it worked perfectly to create the chalkboard for my card.  I wonder what magic potion he is creating here, a love potion perhaps??
For this technique, you simply stamp your images and heat emboss with white embossing powder.  Give that a few seconds to set and then using your finger, rub a little white pigment ink across the paper.  It gives it that chalk eraser effect across the board.  Did you ever have to clean the chalkboard at school?

I stamped the Mad Scientist and colored him with my Spectrum alcohol markers.  A little liquid glass was added to the lenses of his glasses for that realistic look.  I cut him out and popped him onto the card with some popdots.

I finished off the inside of the card with another image from the set and the sentiment.

Here is the whole Mad Scientist set...

Your Friendship Warms My Heart

I fell in love with this set from Pretty Cute Stamps the minute I saw it and knew I had to have it!!
All the sentiments that come along in this set make it so versatile, and while my first instinct was to head in the direction of making a Valentine, I decided to hold off on that for just a bit :)
I hope this card warms your heart!

I first stamped the image from the Eskimo Kisses set and then heat embossed with black embossing powder and then colored it using chalks.  I used eyeshadow applicators and also these tiny little chalk applicators

I then stamped and embossed the word bubble from the  Let's Talk set and filled it with the sentiment from Eskimo Kisses.  After adding some chalk, I cut the image out and attached it to the front of the stamped layer with pop dots.
A little clothespin adds interest to the top of that layer and then the pink layer just brings it all together.
Sending out warm wishes to you and yours!
Happy Stamping!

If you came here from Dawn's blog, you are in the right place.  If you just happened upon this post and would like to start from the beginning, please visit the Pretty Cute Stamps Blog.
Today, my card is made using the new Otterly Amazing stamp set.

We have a large aquarium here where I live, and they have otters.  They are just so adorable!  This little otter is all ready for a birthday party!  I stamped her out and colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers, then water-colored the background with my waterbrush and Distress inks.  I layered her onto Doodlebug Designs papers.  The cupcake and seashells are topped off with some sparkly Stickles.  I popped up the greeting and the little otter with some foam tape.

Here is the greeting inside along with another little sparkly seashell.
This is the whole sweet set and you can find it here

My First Design Team Post!

I had so much fun creating this cute Secret Santa gift box using adorable stamps from Pretty Cute Stamps!
The box is created in the style of a pizza box and is made using a corregated card.  I then added a little blue paint to the box with a dry brush to distress it a bit.   The box was just the right size for Jolly St. Nick from the Dear Santa set.  The snowy scene was made possible by using Snowriter by DecoArt and topped off with some chunky glitter.  I colored all the pieces with Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut them out.

I was able to create all the little festive gifts using the Dear Santa set and a few from the Oh, Christmas Tree set.
The sides were each embellished with holly.

I finished the box off with some pretty holiday ribbon and a tag to let the recipient know who the gift is from.

A touch of sparkle was added to the presents using a Wink of Stella marker.
If you would like to make a cute box like this, find all the stamps here and the tutorial here.

My First December Daily

This is the start of my first December Daily.  "What is that?" you might be asking.  It is whatever you want it to be really.  You might want to journal or scrapbook the happenings leading up to Christmas or December holiday that you celebrate, or make it be a photo book, or like what mine will be...a sort of art or junk journal.  Whatever you make it, make it fun!  This is my front cover and I am squeaking in just under the deadline for a contest :) Merry, merry!

A Christmas Tree for Big Foot

Even this big guy enjoys Christmas, and he has picked out a good tree!!
I made this card using stamps from two different Pretty Cute Stamps sets.
I colored the images with my Spectrum Noir markers and then fussy cut them out.
The sky and highlighting on the snow was done with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, and the glitter glue is from Hampton Art. I used the Stitched Border dies from Lawn Fawn to cut the snow drifts.  You can see more about this and other Christmas cards in my YouTube video posted below.
Thank you for visiting my blog!  Come back soon! :)

Bring On The Bling

Today my post is all about the glitter!  This is an entry for France's Bling It Out challenge over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge blog.
I used Roc Nicholas' Bird Princess stamp and created The Sugar Plum Queen.
I colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers and then glittered her dress.  Originally she is holding a bird, but since she is now the Sugar Plum Queen, she is holding a lollipop which I put Liquid Glass on to make it shiny.  I also used the Liquid Glass on her lips.  She is all ready for the Toy Soldier's Ball :)
Happy Stamping!
